Pitt-Hopkins syndrome is characterized by moderate to severe intellectual disability, characteristic facial features, episodic hyperventilation, and/or breath retention while awake. Other common findings are symptoms of autism spectrum disorders, sleep disorders, stereotyped hand movements, seizures, constipation, and severe myopia.
