Hereditary breast and ovarian cancer [25 genes]

BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes are the most frequently implicated genes and carry a high risk, and are considered high-penetrance genes. Other high- and moderate-penetrance genes are implicated in a smaller percentage of breast and ovarian cancer cases. If genetic testing is indicated for the patient, we recommend performing this panel.

It is estimated that approximately 10% of breast and ovarian cancer have an identifiable hereditary component.
